Grant

Chalk It Up’s mission is to provide financial support to young artists and the artistic programs that uplift and inspire them. We do this through our two grant programs, one targeted at young artists themselves to fund art training, camps, or classes, and a second aimed at educational arts or nonprofit organizations that provide or support arts education and training programs for Sacramento area youth.

This grant is open to all individuals, groups, and organizations that are located in the greater Sacramento region and have a demonstrated need for funding and a commitment to the arts. Our grant program has three open seasons, Winter (December 1- January 31), Spring (March 1- April 30), and Fall (September 1- October 31). Applications are processed during this open period, and Chalk It Up will contact you shortly after you have submitted your grant application to schedule a short phone or Skype interview. After interviews have been completed, applications will go to our Board, and applicants can expect decisions no more than 30 days after the end of that grant season. Applicants are welcome to apply for grants in multiple seasons, however no recipient can receive more than one grant in a year. For more details about our grant process, please download our 2017 Grants Guidelines.

Thank-yous to Chalk It Up from the kids of Kingswood Elementary School for the grant they received allowing them to purchase clay for their art projects.
