Chalk-It-Up! invites you to join us in celebrating the talents of hundreds of local artists and musicians at Sacramento’s favorite family festival. The 21st Annual Chalk It Up to Sacramento will be held over Labor Day Weekend - September 3-5, 2011- at Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento.
About Chalk It Up! to Sacramento
We are a chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to benefit children's arts education and art activities in the Sacramento region. We have been part of the fabric of Sacramento’s creative community since 1991.
Funds for our grants program are raised through the annual chalk art festival. The grants are intended to advance education in all disciplines of the arts for young people in school-based or community-based settings. Chalk It Up has helped to fund over 500 diverse arts programs for youth in our community.
About the Event
The three-day event draws 15,000 – 20,000 people each year and garners extensive media coverage around the region. Chalk It Up! features more than 200 artists creating chalk art masterpieces on the sidewalks; live music by more than two dozen acts; hands-on art activities for children and families, and much more. Community groups, craft booths and food vendors are included in the celebration. Access to the park and the event is always FREE to the public.
The festival engages 300 - 400 volunteers throughout the weekend including the participating artists, musicians, community groups, and the Board of Directors and Committees of Chalk It Up
About Fremont Park
The site, Fremont Park, is a high profile, one square block, City park located between 15th and 16th Streets and P and Q Streets in downtown Sacramento.
15th and 16th Street (Hwy 160) are the major north/south transportation corridors through downtown Sacramento. There is a RT light rail station ½ block from the park (16th St. Station) as well as bus routes serving the area.
All artwork that is created during the festival is usually left to the elements for most of the month of September, bringing hundreds of viewers to the park to see the chalk art created for our sponsors.
About the Sponsorship Opportunities
Limited opportunities are available for you to put your business in the forefront as a patron of art, music and arts education! Naming rights are available for certain high-profile areas of this year’s Chalk It Up! festival and for our arts education grants programs. Go to Sponsorship Levels for more information on the benefits to your business.
We are seeking major sponsors as well as sidewalk square sponsors. For sidewalk squares, we assign the artists to the sponsors from a pool of volunteers, or you can bring your own artists or team to participate in chalking up your company square.
