BIG DAY OF GIVING! Give to Chalk It Up

Chalk It Up is honored to participate in the Big Day of Giving on Thursday, May 2, 2024!

Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour giving celebration from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation that inspires people to support causes they love in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties. This generosity-fueled movement has inspired $91 million in gifts for area nonprofits since 2013.

Chalk It Up’s mission is to empower and support the next generation of Sacramento artists through targeted art grants for young artists and the programs that inspire them. We do this by awarding grants to local teachers, schools, and youth organizations,  by holding the annual High School Self-Portrait Show each spring to showcase our region’s talented high school artists, and through the three-day Chalk It Up Festival, a celebration of creativity and the arts, promoting community pride, civic participation, and social connection.  Thanks to volunteers, sponsors, and donors, this festival has been free for the community since 1991.

We believe the arts, arts education, and the Chalk It Up Festival all promote learning and belonging, vital to healthy, thriving communities. The Chalk It Up Festival, the grants, and the student art show are funded and operated by generous volunteers, donors, community partners, and sponsors.

Your generosity directly impacts thousands of kids and community members, and we couldn’t do this without you!
